1. First of all when you are talking to a prospect you need to try and see your


business through their eyes and ears. The longer you are involved in your business the harder this is to do. You begin to assume things about your business that a new prospect will not naturally know. They do not know how great your products are. Or they do not know how great your compensation plan is.


The key here is to never assume, but to ask questions and then listen to what your prospect is saying. They will lead you to what is important to them and then you can proceed from there.


2. Spend some time just building a little rapport outside of your business. This simply means talking to them about them. Everyone loves to talk about themselves. You will very quickly find out what their hot button is by finding out what they like to do in their spare time. What they do and don't like about their lives right now. Making a friend goes a long way when it comes time for them to listen about your business.


3. Work at becoming a better communicator. The best skill you can develop when it comes to communicating is to become a better listener. Have you ever been in a conversation and felt like the person you were talking to was not hearing what you said. Many time people are so busy thinking about what they are going to say next that it wouldn't matter what you were saying because they weren't listening anyway. You have 2 ears and one mouth for a reason.


4. You get paid in your mlm business to get a yes or no out of your prospect. The sooner you find this out the better off for both of you. As you are talking to your prospect you basically go through the whole process just to find out if they are interested in joining you or not. Don't be afraid to find this out. If the answer is no that's o.k. because you can quickly move on to your next prospect.


To summarize this article, asking questions, becoming a better listener, and arriving at a final decision is the fastest way to make your network marketing business grow. Doing this over and over and getting your group to do the same will

SEO and SEM are two terms that are commonly bandied about by webmasters. Sometimes it seems as if the two terms are used almost interchangeably. But is there a difference, and if so, what is it?


In fact, there is a difference. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It refers to anything you do to your page to make it more search engine friendly. SEM stands for Search Engine Marketing. It forms a sort of umbrella term that can refer to anything you do to get your page ranked higher in search engines, from search engine optimization to requesting backlinks to submitting your URL to search engines.


It's important to know the difference between the two when you're shopping for SEO or SEM services. If the company doesn't specify what services it offers as part of its "SEM Package," then don't hesitate to ask. And don't hand over any money until you know! Some companies may mean nothing more than submitting your website's URL to a few search engines, and you can do that yourself.


Whenever possible, get a list of specific things they plan to do to help surfers find your website. Will they submit your URL to search engines? Get a list of the search engines they plan to submit it to. ("Yahoo!, Google, and 100's More!" doesn't count.) Will they keyword optimize your site? Be sure to ask if they include META and ALT tags.


Ultimately, whether a company uses "SEO" or "SEM" doesn't matter as much as what services they offer. Ideally, SEM would be more valuable than SEO, because it would include SEO as well as other marketing strategies. But this is not always the case. As we've noted before, it can be simply a code for "stick your URL is a few search engines and be done with it." Look for reputable websites, and ask for specific services they offer. Once you've done your homework, you will be able to make an informed decision between SEO and SEM and march forward proudly, knowing that you truly got the best value for your money.

In this search there were over 10,000 inbound links on the web. This tells me the site is doing well and it helps me see which sites that feature the link are the highest ranking. If you visit other search engines you can learn how to access information about site rankings by visiting a section typically called 'Advance Search Options".


The affects of inbounds links shouldn't be minimized and the use of a free article directory can help spread the word about your site through inbound links. A diverse selection of expert articles is very helpful in improving SEO strategies.


Certainly there are a variety of SEO strategies to consider, but inbound links may provide a significant number of impressions and an improved number of site visitations, which can dramatically improve conversion rate with potential customers.


A great number of links to your website is often viewed by search engines as a means of gauging improved trust. Improved trust in your website will improve your site rankings.

Passion. I can't emphasize this enough. Far too many people make the mistake of picking a subject matter for the wrong reason. If you pick a niche because you think it will make a bunch of money, you are making a mistake. If you pick a niche because you there seems to be a lot of interest in it, you are making a mistake. You must pick something you love. Doing so turns work into fun instead of drudgery. That is, after all, one of the reasons you decided to open a site.


Be an expert. This ties into the rule of having passion about your site subject. If you have a passion for it, you should have no problem becoming an expert on the subject. Once you reach that point, you should start publishing articles showing off your expertise. You should also join forums catering to your subject and get involved. People will come to know you as an expert and visit your site accordingly.


The simple site. Even though you are on the web, you should still follow the rule of KISS. No, not the band. KISS stands for keep it simple, stupid. Your site should be simple and load fast. Make it easy for people to find what they need. Make it even simpler for people to buy something from you. Flash is exciting, but unnecessary unless it is critical to the subject matter of your site.


Personalize your site. You are passionate and an expert on the subject matter of your site. Make sure your site reflects that. Encourage people to submit questions and answer them on the site. Offer tips to help readers out. Write a newsletter. Keep a diary of projects you are working on. Publish a picture of yourself. Personalized sites add to your credibility.


Optimize your site to get it ranked in Google, Yahoo and MSN. Yes, it can take a year or two to see results, but won't you be happy when you finally start getting free traffic? Hire someone to help you or learn to do it yourself. For long term success, generating free traffic from rankings is critical to your success.


Know when to take a break. Because you are passionate about your site, you can easily be consumed by it. You will get a lot done at first, but will eventually burn out. Don't work 24/7. It just is not worth it. Take at least two days off each week. Normal people call these "weekends." Be normal and stay sane.

Making money online is never easy for a beginner. There is a lot to learn and it takes time to get set up and then get indexed by the search engines. To be successful you will need patience and some discipline. I should mention that sometimes you need a little luck as well.


A few months ago I got lucky when one of the "Internet Gurus" sent me a "Real" email - not the usual sales pitch variety. He sent me the email to tell me that one of my sites was producing a lot of sales for his product. It turns out I was his third biggest producer and he just wanted to say hi and find out a little bit about me. (I won't tell you the site or product as it is my biggest money maker at the moment - it acounts for half my daily income and I don't want any competition.) I got lucky finding the niche and even luckier meeting the Guru. He has a page rank 7 and he gave me a backlink from his site. This backlink immediately got my site out of the Google Sandbox and I now have a page rank 5 site. This has put my site firmly at the top of Googles listings for my niche. This has meant even more sales and the Guru and I have basically helped each other make more money. I bring this up to point out the benefits of cultivating friends online.


The guru has sent me the odd tip from time to time and yesterday he mentioned a new program that will be starting up shortly. The program is called AGLOCO and while it is still in Beta (testing) it is due to start up in a few weeks. The premise of this program is to create a huge online Co-op of sorts. In simple terms the idea is to create a large network of members who will be given a viewing tool to add to their browser. This tool will show ads and promotions from the big online advertisers.
